Free Skilled Trades Platforms Target America's 2.1M Worker Gap, Including Healthcare Careers

Two new free national platforms — YouthSkilledTrades.com and AdultSkilledTrades.com — have launched to connect students, parents, adult career changers, veterans, schools, workforce boards, unions, and employers with skilled trade careers and training. The launch coincides with the July 1, 2026 rollout of Workforce Pell Grants, expanding Pell eligibility to qualifying short-term workforce programs.

Key tools include a Find Your Trade career quiz, a College vs. Trades debt calculator, a Workforce Pell Grant Checker, salary data across all 50 states, and a growing directory of 905 skilled trades institutions. Both platforms are free for students and job seekers.
