How the AI tools handle your data

Short version: the text you type is sent to an AI model to produce your result, is not used to train that model, is not sold, and is saved only if you are logged in and choose to save it. The funding screener runs entirely in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.

What is sent, and where

Resume Builder, Cover Letter Builder, Mock Interview, Ask AI: the fields you fill in (trade, role, employer, experience notes, certifications, your interview answers) are sent over an encrypted connection to a server function we run on Supabase, which forwards them to Anthropic's Claude model and returns the result. The request carries no account identifiers beyond the login token that proves you are signed in.
Funding Eligibility Check and Pell Checker: your answers stay in your browser. Nothing is transmitted. The result is computed on your device.
Salary calculators and wage pages: read public BLS data. Nothing you enter leaves your browser.

What is kept

We do not store the text you send to the AI tools on our servers. Anthropic's API does not use it to train models.
If you are logged in and click Save, your resume or cover letter draft is stored in your account so you can come back to it. You can delete it from your dashboard at any time, or email us to have the account and everything in it removed.
If you are not logged in, nothing is kept once you leave the page.

What not to enter

You never need to type a Social Security number, date of birth, home address, bank details, or another person's private information into any tool on this site, and we ask that you do not. A resume works with a name, a city, an email, and a phone number.

Veterans, WIOA participants, and students

Veteran status, WIOA eligibility answers, and school information are sensitive. The screeners that ask for them do not transmit them. When a veteran or a WIOA participant uses the resume or interview tools, only what they choose to type about their experience is sent, and the same rules above apply. Students under 18 and their parents should also read the Student and Parent Privacy page.
